PRACTICAL SKILLS, EVALUATION AND REFLECTION -First Shoot Edits

f25 ISO 100 30seconds
I think this image is one of the more successful image I have taken using the same style as Thomas Joshua Cooper. I created the same misty effect that he does with the water. I edited them all using the camera raw edit section on photoshop. I increased the contrast and brightness and I also used the clone stamp tool and the spot healing tool to remove the glare from the sun on the lens. To create these images I used an eight -stop neutral density filter to control how much light enters the lens. I like the effect and style of the sea in this image, I had to edit out a glare from the sun. I like how the sea is washing over the lower rocks and creating mist and definition in the rock.

I like this photo and how it shows how hard the water was hitting the rocks by the smoothness around the rocks edges. There was not a lot of movement in the sea as it was quite a calm day and less clouds in the sky. So only movement around the rock edges were captured in this photo. With this image I increased the contrast and the shadows of the image. I also used the burn tool on the island on the left as the mist and spray from the sea made the island look faded.

This image was one of the first images I took as a test. I feel like this image didn't work as well as the others. I struggled as the tide was coming in rapidly and the lighting wasn't right with a longer shutter speed. I mainly changed the brightness and contrast of the image using photoshop. I then  straightened the image using the straighten ruler tool along the base of the island. I feel like this didn't work as well there is some smoothness to the water by I think it could need some more time. However, it was a bright day and the settings wouldn't compensate this. I could use a higher stop filter to leave the shutter open for longer to capture more movement in the image.

The ISO is the low to relate to the work of Thomas Joshua Cooper who was inspired by using low ISO to make the image sharp; it also means that it lets less light into the camera. I used the smallest aperture to create a deep depth of field and also to restrict the light and extend the length of time the shutter is open.

To create this photo I used a set of short shutter speed images and combined them using photoshop in the File> Automate > photo merge I combined images from IMG_6641 to IMG_6648. This panoramic was created using the 7 images which weren't as successful to combine there areas which were successful to create a single image.
